Community Advisory Board

The aim of the Community Advisory Board is to provide oversight and advice to the Genes & Health team, guided by our community members. The Community Advisory Board is made up of participants of our study, religious leaders, community and voluntary sector organisations, public sector representatives, GP representatives and the Genes & Health strategy team.

The Community Advisory Board’s main roles are to:

  • Provide community-based advice and oversight to the Genes & Health project.​
  • Review and comment on the appropriateness (but not scientific value) of sensitive applications to use or access Genes & Health resources.
  • Advise the Genes & Health Executive on volunteer recruitment strategies, community relations, engagement, and community priorities for research.​
  • Advise the Genes & Health Executive on industry relationships.​
